Legnatec Co., Ltd., based in the town of Morodomi, Saga, on September 11, 2020, opened a directly managed interior shop in Hakata Riverain Mall (B2F), in Shimokawabata-machi, Fukuoka. The new shop, Legnatec Hakata, displays and sells some 40 items of quality solid wood furniture, including desks ideal for home office use, along with clocks, trays, and other wooden home accessories.

An established furniture manufacturer founded in 1964 in the town of Morodomi, Saga, Legnatec sources timber suitable for furniture from around the world, selecting only the finest materials and turning them into products.

The company is one of the few furniture manufacturers in Japan that handle every process in-house, from material selection to design, processing, and finish. It upholds the philosophy “In pursuit of simple, timeless interior pieces” from its base in Morodomi, Saga, a small town with a population of 12,000 that has long been renowned for joiners and woodworkers engaging in furniture production.

The shop in Hakata Riverain Mall offers products from Legnatec’s signature Classe line, the collaborative Ariake brand originating in a workshop with international designers, and the new Blisstime collection.

Ariake is a particularly popular brand featuring the work of 10 leading designers from seven countries, including Gabriel Tan. Each piece is inspired by Saga’s traditional culture—its history as a hub of furniture production, the magnificent view of the Ariake Sea, and the spirit of craftsmanship.

Legnatec products centering on the Ariake brand and including the Classe line of standard furniture are exported to 10 countries. Visitors to the new shop are invited to experience the Saga craftsmanship recognized in Japan and around the world.
